Who should I contact regarding ND mineral rights?

have you heard of the 'Fee simple'? It is a law that prevails in some parts of the USA. It basically means that if you own the land, you also own the soil underneath it and the air over it. if that is applicable in ND, then you're lucky!

The 'Fee Simple' is NOT applicable in most countries of the world. In most places the Government claims to own all mineral resources. So an individual cannot legally extract and sell oil, coal or anything even if he owns the land. add a comment

Get a good lawyer to help you with mineral rights. Oil companies will try to pull a fast one on you and you need to be very aware of what is rightfully yours. Check your sales documents and also with your local municipality office to ensure what is yours.

In ND you can sell land rights and mineral rights separately. View your sales deed to see what you bought. In the past some farmers used to sell just the land but keep the mineral rights to themselves.
