What is healthier, a bagel and cream cheese or pasta?

That depends on whether the bagel is plain, has high calorie additives to make it sweeter, whether the cream cheese is regular or reduced fat, the type of pasta, and if you are adding anything to the pasta. A serving of one of the smart new pastas with added fiber, plus ½ cup low-fat tomato sauce is best.

It all depends on what type of diet you're on and what you're putting on the pasta. Whole grain anything is heathier by far than processed flour, so if you're eating either try and find it in whole grain over white bread. Also, it depends on how much of each you're eating as well.

Bagel and cream cheese is a very high fat option. Pasta could be a healthier choice, but it would depend entirely on the portion size, and what type of sauce you have with it. Something like tuna and mediterranean vegetables would be quite healthy. Full-fat carbonara sauce would not.

In terms of calories, the pasta will likely contain less calories. That is unless the sauce itself is heavy in fatty additives. So, the pasta MAY be healthier.
