Are there any practical uses of the Japaneses Tonfa self defense weapon?

The only practical use would be in self defense that i know of, unless you want to tenderize a steak by beating on it for awhile. The Tonfa is a ancient weapon used over 100 years ago when Japanese warrior's were protecting thier homeland from attacks. You might be able to use it like a slege hammer but not likely.

Originally, the Tonfa was designed to grind rice. It was used as part of a millstone. As time went on, it was adapted to become a part of self defense in karate and Jujitsu.

Japanese Tonfa is a weapon as any other. The advantage of that (as a self defense weapon) is that it can be easily hidden in ur pocket so you can take it everywhere. You have to have a basic knowledge about injuries done by that weapon. People say that the most effective are knee-hits.
